Climate Ready Cotati Fair

The goal of the Climate Ready Cotati Fair is to educate, empower, and activate our community to:

LEARN how to reduce your environmental footprint

CONNECT with people and resources for climate resilience

ACT now for a more sustainable future

The Fair is FREE and will feature more than 20 community organizations and agencies providing resources and information that you can use. In addition, join us for activities to help you reduce, reuse, and recycle . . . and have fun!

Door Prize Drawing – Visit the City of Cotati booth next to the food trucks to learn more about our great programs. Take a short survey on your priorities for City action on environmental sustainability, and be entered into a door prize drawing for gift cards from local businesses. (Drawing will be held at 1:45pm; you don’t need to be present to win.)

Feeling Hungry? – Food Trucks will offer great food for sale, featuring reusable dishes provided by Sparkl Reusables to reduce disposables waste.

Kids’ Activities – City of Cotati Recreation will provide free activities for our younger Fair-goers. Sandy Loam will provide kids’ games and a plant start giveaway.

Clothing Swap – Time to clean out your closets! Bring one or more clean, gently used clothing items to contribute, check out the array of new-to-you treasures, and take home as many as you like. (Sorry, you’ll have to guestimate the fit as we won’t have a place to try the clothes on.) All clothes left at the end of the Fair will be donated to charity. Organized by LITE Initiatives. Volunteers are needed for the swap! Contact abuss@cotaticity.gov if interested.

Clothing Mending Bar – SRJC Fashion Studies and Fashion Club will offer a FREE mending bar for small fixes to your favorite clothes. Bring matching thread, patches, buttons, zippers, etc. if possible to ensure success. Walk-ups at the event will be accepted, but if you can, please sign up in advance here: https://docs.google.com/.../1FAIpQLSe69HZFd_8D.../viewform. In addition, SRJC Fashion Students will host live mending demonstrations at 11:00am and 1:00pm to show participants techniques for mending their own clothes at home.

Small Appliance Repair – Extend the life of your lamps, vacuum cleaners, and other small appliances and textiles that just need a little fix. Bring them to the Fair, along with any parts you might have for the repair, and a repair coach from the ReUse Alliance will work to fix your item and show you how it’s done. First-come, first-served. Sorry, no microwaves or cell phones.

Bike Repairs – Flat tire? Loose brakes? Time to replace the chain? The Fair’s volunteer bike mechanic will complete free, minor repairs for you on the spot. Bring the needed parts if you can. First-come, first-served, during the Fair hours of 10-2.

Book/Puzzle/Game Swap – Tired of your old books, puzzles, and games? Bring one or more to our swap and take home some new-to-you entertainment.

Free Rides – Redwood Bikeshare will offer free e-bike rides to demo the region’s new bikesharing service, from our very own pod at the Cotati SMART Station.
