Oliver’s Markets was founded in 1988 in Cotati by Steve Maass. The original Oliver’s mission was to create a store where people would enjoy shopping. Exactly how that is manifested has changed over the years, the core elements remain the same:

Oliver’s Market Cotati is a little funky, very friendly, and serves as a ‘community hall’ for Cotati residents and Sonoma State Students. The store features a killer Taqueria and Deli, fresh Sushi, and our largest Produce, Gourmet Cheese, and Bulk Food Departments.

The Cotati Store also has our largest selection of Wines, Spirits and Craft Beers, complementing the department's tasting bar, which operates every Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening. Our award-winning Bakery features the best cakes anywhere. Period.

Our Wellness Department is staffed with some of the most experienced people in the industry.

 In 2017, Steve sold a portion of Oliver’s Market to the employees, creating the largest ESOP (Employee Stock Ownership Plan) Company in Sonoma County and preserving the independent legacy of Oliver’s Market for years to come.
