Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County builds strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. People in our community and all over the world partner with Habitat to build or improve a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, those homeowners achieve the independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.

In June 2019, Habitat Sonoma County secured the site for The Habitat Center—the region’s first nonprofit industrialized residential construction factory and trades training center. Computer-aided systems at the Center will convert construction plans to panelized wall assembly instructions. In The Habitat Center’s factory, teams of staff and volunteers will produce wall panels for use at Habitat builds throughout Sonoma County, ultimately enabling Habitat to decrease build costs and construction timelines. Through Habitat’s educational partnerships with Santa Rosa Junior College and the North Coast Builders Exchange, The Habitat Center will train the next generation of home builders. These partnerships include both classroom instruction and hands-on training in modern construction methods at the Center.
